Founded in September 1993, the United States-China Association of Commerce (USCAC) is one of the major organizations in the Washington DC area. At present, it has more than 300 Chinese and Western members, thousands of business organizations. The purpose of the USCAC is to promote the economic and trade development and technical and cultural exchanges between the United States and China, and to enhance friendship and understanding between the two governments and peoples. The three major tasks of USCAC are:
- To assist members to keep abreast of business information and to provide relevant advisory services.
- To help members understand the legal policies of the United States and China to improve the business management standards.
- To assist members to expand the US-China economic and trade, science and technology and cultural aspects of cooperation and exchange channels, from the role of paving the way.
