U.S.-China Business Council Asian American Youth Community Leadership Scholarship
The inaugural DMV Asian American Youth Leadership Scholarship offers awards totaling up to $10,000 to recognize outstanding contributions of Asian American youth to their communities.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be Asian American high school students in the DMV area.
Applicants must demonstrate experience and commitment to civic engagement and community service.
The money can be used for college or career training.
Evaluation Criteria:
The scholarship is designed to recognize and support Chinese American youth who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities through civic engagement, community service and innovative initiatives.
This can include serving on student government, organizing community events, taking on a leadership role in a club or organization, or providing volunteer work to the community.
Application Materials:
Resume: Should include academic achievements, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, leadership positions, and any relevant awards or honors.
Please submit a 500-1000 word personal statement or a 2-5 minute video describing your passion and experience in civic engagement, community service, and future goals for improving your community.
Two letters of recommendation: Letters of recommendation can come from teachers, community leaders, or directors of voluntary organizations.

A panel of senior Washington University educators and community leaders conducts an impartial evaluation of the applications to select the grant winners.
